Abstract

Algerian women are praised for their brave participation in the struggle for national independence against French colonialism. According to female scholars like Dr. Faiqa Mjahed, Marie-Aime Helie-Lucas and Djamila Amrane a freedom fighter herself (1957-1962), the participation of Algerian women played a determining role in the success of the struggle.
