Abstract
In the last decade, people concerned with the problems of old age, witnessed the publication of the monumental work of Simone de Beauvoir, "La Vieillesse", translated into English by Patrick O'Brian, under the title of The Coming of Age. It is a thorough stucfy of old age in all its phases and can be considered a pioneering work in our century.
